Oct 12,  · This LP is, of course, of its time; not just late when it was recorded, as Joy Division beat up their sound and vision to move implacably on, from "Unknown Pleasures" to "Closer", but also Spring , the date of release, reminding us, in the dog days of another culture, traumatised by synthetic rock and an increasingly aimless dance culture, reminding us what pop music is and can be/5(43).
